Victory Smoothie

It is very easy to make goals at the beginning of each year... to write down what you want to achieve, the changes that you want to make and start running with them into January... the real challenge is to make them sustainable and successful. Having a strong start in January means nothing if you cannot sustain it throughout the year. I always find the best way to tackle this problem is to make sure you work and celebrate together. Work hard to achieve your goals, and celebrate your victories. If you constantly are looking forward to where you want to be, you will just get frustrated with where you are at right now. I am a big fan of looking forward and focusing on what lies ahead but sometimes it does you the world of good to look at how far you have already come! You may not be where you want to be right now but be thankful that you are not where you used to be. And keep making the little decisions everyday that will take you closer to where you want to be tomorrow. I realise that's a bit of a mouthful... hopefully it makes sense.

What do you do to celebrate your victories? Find a few things that compliment your goals... celebrate a great workout with a long relaxing bath or a delicious smoothie, like the one below. Celebrate successful work days by having dinner with a friend, or a relaxing night in. We have to take time to celebrate in life, otherwise we will just run ourselves into the ground with all the goals and targets! It works as a cycle... take on the challenge... win the battle... celebrate the victory... take on the challenge...win the battle... celebrate the victory!

I always notice when I am constantly taking on the challenges, winning battles but without the celebration and I've learnt that in order to function well I need the victory party, no matter how little it may be.

Here's a yummy smoothie recipe for you... maybe this can be a breakfast celebration:

Victory Smoothie - Makes 2

You will need:
1/2 Pineapple
1 cup (A big handful) Spinach leaves
1 Banana
1 tsp booster eg Spirulina
1 tsp Vanilla Protein
1 tbsp Coconut Oil
Almond Milk

Method:

Throw all the ingredients in the blender and mix! If your blender isn't very strong maybe start with the pineapple and Almond milk together then add the other ingredients.

This is a great breakfast smoothie, or a post workout smoothie. I make it and have it directly after a dance class. That's my celebration.

Would love to know your thoughts on this topic... or what you all do to celebrate the little wins everyday.

Happy Monday xx
